We bought our new dr horton home last year. Since it was a new home it came with a one year warranty on everything in the home.

We started to notice a lot of standing water on the side of my house. I notified dr horton about it, and they came and fixed it. They said there was a small leak in the irrigation. I'm thinking cool, no worries it fixed now.

Well a month before my warranty expires, I have a home inspection done. Everything was good except, that after it rains, my back yard has a lot of standing water. I thought it was normal (first time home owner) but the inspector pointed out that it was very bad and could ruin the foundation of my home since the standing water is so close to the house. I sent a request to dr horton to have it addressed, and Joe Cercone said I have to pay for it myself and everything was done to county specifications.

This furriated my wife and I.

We don't have the money to fix this, and my home is still under warranty!! I will never reccomend horton to any home buyer until this issue is resolved.

same issue in Washington. never D.R. Horton problem

We are having same problem in glassboro nj called and complained to horton and the building inspector and nothing done after 5yrs they promised it would be fixed even before we bought the house they dont care after they get their money

Funny you should mention this. We're having the exact same problems with them - and can't even get them to install a drain, even though their landscaper said it was the best solution... in front of the Horton rep.
