Dr Horton - DR. Horton is the worst home builder in Florida

We have had nothing but push back after push back since considering DR Horton as our home builder. I would NOT consider or refer DR Horton to any one in the near future.
We we're suppose to be in our new home at the end of August and here it is 10 Oct 2013 and have yet to go to closing.
We chose to go through their finance office for our VA loan and it has been nothing short than a NIGHTMARE!!! Please do not choose this company to build your home and definitely do not use their finance department...

Having same problems in Delray Beach with DR Horton! Was told closing July 2013 and finally closed September 19, 2013 but wish we didn't because we cannot get anybody to complete problems and punch list items we need done!!!!!!!!!!!
A WARNING.... DO NOT CLOSE UNTIL ITEMS ARE COMPLETE!!!!!!!! I call the superintendent and he schedules workers to come and they never show. I call him and his message box is full.
I call the office and no one calls back. It's a *** SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before you buy red the reviews please.
If we specified every bad at our houses you go crazy like us and you will cry with us!!!!
DO NOT BUY!!!!
Maybe should have read the previous reviews here first? They dont have such a good track record.........an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure....
True, but the majority of the complaints here could have been avoided if buyers took responsibilty for the process. Hire an inspector.
If building from the ground up have it inspected at every phase. If the builder refuses to fix major issues then walk away from the deal. Too many folks buy into the "its new, dont worry about it" scheme. Bottom line is folks continue to close on unfixed issues and then complain.
The real problem is the buyers. Sorry, but it's true. Buyers need to be fully engaged in the process AND be willing to bail if the builder doesn't fix *** work. But, buyers just keep giving their money away.
When folks stop giving their money away the problem will change. But as long as their are suckers buying then builders will keep selling.
Harse but true....
